John Obuh, former Flying Eagles coach and head coach of league side, Ifeanyi Ubah FC is not a happy man.
This follows his side 3-0 whitewash at the Warri township stadium against Warri Wolves FC.
Speaking to NAIJ.COM after his team’s defeat to their host, Obuh attributed the defeat to his strikers’ ineptitude to convert their chances.
He said: “The striking position is a major concern for us and this is why we have being trying our possible best to get the people who can score the goals. It’s not just about having the ball on your foot but about converting your chances.
“The players’ inability to convert chances has been one of the challenges the team has been facing and we trying to bring in people who can convert chances.”
Obuh however confirmed reports of the capture of Chima Okas from Heartland FC and former U-21 international, Alfa Yakubu who are set to join the team.
“Yes we have an agreement with the two players, but we have to wait for them to get their clearance sorted out. In fact, if not for the clearance, the duo would have hit theground running,” he said.
Speaking shortly after, Igwe Jonathan, team manager of Ifeanyi Ubah Fc disclosed that the team has signed 7 new players from across the continent.
In his words: “We just signed 7 new players, internationally and locally. We have from Mali, Congo and the rest of them.”
He however expressed confidence that the John Obuh led side can pick up a continental ticket despite defeat to Warri Wolves.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah now occupy the 12th position after their defeat to the seasiders.
