APC Trying To Evade Justice, Begs Monarchs, Fayose - PDP

The Ekiti state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of running to some notable monarchs and other influential indigenes of the state for help over the murder cases filed against its members.
The PDP alleged that the APC had approached about five first-class traditional rulers in the state to appeal to the governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose in order to evade being brought to book, Punch reports.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the state publicity secretary of the PDP, Jackson Adebayo.
According to Adebayo, a special delegation led by a former deputy chairman of the APC was set up to carry out this assignment so as to save the accused persons, after their team of lawyers concluded that there was no way any of accused could escape being convicted.
The PDP secretary further said part of the delegation were sent to the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, but they were being cautious pending the outcome of the mediation by the monarchs and the emissary to the governor.
Adeabyo therefore urged the traditional rulers not to intervene for those who are seeking to shield criminals in Ekiti state from justice.
Reacting to the allegation, the APC publicity secretary described it as a lie.
The PDP in Ekiti state has been in crisis. Last Friday, July 31, the crisis took a violent turn as there was a shootout at the party secretariat in Ado Ekiti.
Despite the crisis rocking the PDP in the state, some leaders from Erinmope wards 1 and 2 in Moba local government area have pledged their support to Governor Fayose.
