Is Wizkid about to change his name on Twitter? Well, it looks like it. The 'Ojuelegba' hit-maker took to his Twitter in the early hours of July 29 announcing to his 1.6 million fans that his new Twitter name is coming soon. Mario Gomez looks set to swap Fiorentina for Besiktas, with the clubs in negotiations over the striker.   Super Lig side Besiktas have confirmed they are in negotiations with Fiorentina over a move for striker Mario Gomez. The former Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to the Turkish giants in recent weeks, having spent the last two seasons at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Gomez has scored 14 goals in 47 appearances for the Serie A club - despite missed large chunks of his first season in Florence due to a knee problem. The Turkish club confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that they had "started negotiations with Fiorentina regarding the player's transfer". Ahead of Senol Gunes' first season in charge, Gomez would likely serve as a replacement for striker Demba Ba, who signed for Shanghai Shenhua last month.

Seko Fofana has joined Bastia on loan for the 2015-16 season from Premier League side Manchester City.   Manchester City midfielder Seko Fofana has joined Bastia on a season-long loan deal. The Frenchman, who is yet to play for City at senior level, spent the much of last season with Championship side Fulham. Fofana scored one goal in 25 appearances for the London club. The 20-year-old will now spend 2015-16 in his homeland with Ligue 1 side Bastia, who finished 12th last season.

Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier will miss the opening four months of the Ligue 1 season after suffering a thigh injury against Arsenal.   Lyon are set to be without playmaker Clement Grenier until December after he was ruled out for four months with a thigh injury. Grenier picked up the problem during Lyon's 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Arsenal in the Emirates Cup last weekend, the 24-year-old collapsing inside his own half with no-one around him. The latest setback represents another blow for a midfielder who endured a 2014-15 campaign blighted by groin and thigh problems, only making seven appearances in all competitions. The former Chief Security Officer of former president Jonathan, Mr Gordon Obua is reportedly lying critically ill at the National hospital. According to friends of the former CSO who shared his photo on Facebook, Mr Obua has continued to suffer both physically and mentally and has been in great pain since the day he returned home on July 21st after being detained by the DSS. They say his abdomen is swollen and he has great difficulty moving around. According to his family members, they are already making plans to fly him overseas for a more accurate evaluation and treatment as advised by his family physician. Mr Gordon was arrested by DSS officials as part of measures by the new administration to probe officials who worked under GEJ's government. He was released on July 21st.

According to a report by Punch , the US government handed over the names of Nigerian oil thieves to President Buhari during his last trip to the country. A member of the President’s entourage during the trip told the newspaper; "I can tell you that the President already has the list of names of the people engaging in the stealing of Nigeria’s oil. The list, when released by the President, will shock Nigerians. But let’s wait and see first,” the source said. The source insinuated that most of the oil thieves were from President Jonathan's administration. The source claimed that Buhari got two lists from the US, - one listing the names of top government officials who have been stealing the country’s oil, using their high offices to perpetrate the stealing; and the other containing the names of illegal oil bunkerers.  “The President will probe all of them and make sure they return whatever fortune they had made from their thievery,” the source said.

As the wife of Nigeria's Senate president and former Kwara state First Lady, Mrs Toyin Saraki, answered EFCC's invitation, she was escorted to the anti-graft agency's office by five senators and 20 House of Reps members, including the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Ali Ahmad. The senators included Dino Maleye, Peter Nwaobo si, Abdul Abubakar, Binta Mashin and Isa Misau. They all arrived EFCC headquarters at 12.30 pm where Mrs Saraki was grilled by EFCC officials over alleged fraud charges for almost six hours before she was finally released to go home. She's expected back there today by 10am. Mrs Saraki later released a statement via her private secretary Hakeem Olagoje, saying she was very ready and willing to cooperate fully with the EFCC on the investigation. Kaduna state governor, Nasir El Rufai pictured above as he arrived Kaduna state High Court to officially file a suit against the Union newspapers for their report on July 1st that he declared assets worth N90billion before the Code of Conduct Bureau. The governor has since denied the report. TORONTO — Bobbi Kristina Brown died Sunday, nearly six months after  she was found unresponsive in the bathtub   of her Georgia home. She was 22. Kristen Foster said in a statement: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.” The only daughter of late singer Whitney Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown died at Peachtree Christian Hospice, where she  had been moved   as her condition deteriorated. “Krissy was and is an angel,” Brown said in a statement released Monday. “I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honour her memory. “Our loss is unimaginable.” On Monday morning, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said an autopsy will be needed to determine what lead to Brown’s death.
